Port Stephens Anniversary Trip 2004
Michael and I on our belated first anniversay getaway to Port Stephens in mid-September 2004. In mid September 2004 Michael and I took off to Port Stephens for a long-planned and very belated anniversary trip. We struck it lucky: snow was predicted for the next three days in the Mountains when we left, and we came back just as a storm hit Port Stephens.
Great fun and attempted tanning followed. Michael managed to stay behind or out of the camera lens practically the entire time, and I didn't realise until we got back, so he's not in many shots unfortunately.
We were very unhappy about coming back after a week of it. We miss the fish burgers, waking up to the beach view, and headbutting the laptop keyboard while doing TAFE work.
We had two big animal encounters while there -- a 1.5m diamond python snake and an amazingly curious kookaburra. The kookaburra landed on the upstairs deck railing while I was dusting sand off my shoes -- I looked up and there it was, less than a foot from my head.
