Two strange quotes in the MS arti\u00adcle above made me wonder\u2026<\/p>\n

Think\u00ading in terms of web-scale, there are bil\u00adlions of pages writ\u00adten specif\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly for either Quirks, IE7, Almost Stan\u00addards, or the lat\u00adest Standards.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Seri\u00adous\u00adly, no one \u201cwrites for quirks\u201d, espe\u00adcial\u00adly for com\u00adpat\u00adi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty. One writes in quirks acci\u00adden\u00adtal\u00adly, or from lazi\u00adness, lack of knowl\u00adedge, or pos\u00adsi\u00adbly as a result of head trau\u00adma. Phras\u00ading it this way makes it sound like peo\u00adple inten\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adly choose to ignore the past 10 years of brows\u00ader land\u00adscape. Besides which, you can\u2019t be \u201cwrit\u00ading for quirks\u201d with 1193 errors on your front page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The offi\u00adcial blog\u2019s word\u00ading always comes across as care\u00adful\u00adly phrased to avoid tak\u00ading blame or hon\u00adest\u00adly admit\u00adting past mis\u00adtakes that lead to the cur\u00adrent mess, fur\u00adther ruf\u00adfling the feath\u00aders of the many pes\u00adsimist hawks sub\u00adscribed to their RSS feed.
